No, they're not filming anymore - all filming was complete in July, which is just my luck... Hobbiton is almost completely dismantled, only some unpainted hobbit hole fronts are remaining, as far as I know - so 50$ is plain ridiculous, imo. The country has so much to offer, I wish I could travel more and work on my research less! LOL But I do the best I can and simply enjoy every minute... The glowworms are cool - the cave ceiling looks like the night sky! I have one of the glowworm dolls at home, actually - but I didn't even know there were real glowworms (actually it's only their tails that glow, to attract insects that they catch with spiderweb-like fishing lines), until I read about the Waitomo caves... I'm immensely jealous of you but I'm working on catching up… (Currently I'm stuck in Switzerland however, busy studying like a mad-woman for my exams this autumn.) But my trip to the states had been great and fantastic. I just still have to write my journal thing complete with pictures etc. Still – New Zealand – darn – I wish I was there!!! *throws a miniature temper tantrum*

I'm not sure I can write you a real letter in time for it to arrive in NZ – but I think I'll try and email you sometime.

$50?!?! Wow, that's ridiculous but then again...aren't they still filming? Hmm, maybe you can get a very short term job. Than again you could just enjoy the rest of the country the way you've been doing!! Sounds like it's an amazing trip. I'm mucho jealous, I just stare at my walls all day. But I'm glad you're having such a fun time!! I wanna see glow worms. I remember there used to be glow worm dolls. I thought they were adorable but I never had one. Ah!
