I used to know the difference between hostels and backpackers(…). I think the latter is more rugged. In Berlin we were lodged in an almost empty room. There were only mattress… no covers and sheets(like sleeping bags are needed), but it was well located… near the wall, and just a 5 minutes walk from a club called Tresor.

You are lucky to have a more than a month of time off this summer… looking forward to hear from your trips.

I *really* should remember stuff like that - but I just don't, sorry! It might have been Banff, so not really a major US city - shit, neither US nor city... *g* Or Albuquerque, also nothing major. 5 DM - I can hardly believe it, Berlin is not exactly the cheapest place to be...
